Check to see if the treats have been quality-checked and monitored under food safety programs. It is also important to read the labels to check the serving size. Treats need to be fed according to a dog’s weight. The recommended calorie intake from treats should not exceed 10 percent of a dog’s total daily caloric requirement. We always say to treat them as if they were a candy bar–that way you know how many they should receive in a day.
