• Pet care snacks lacking in nutritional value

When choosing treats it is important to read the labels. Look to see where it was manufactured–like China or the U.S.A. Check to see if the treats have been quality-checked and monitored under food safety programs.  It is also important to read the labels to check the serving size.  Treats need to be fed according to a dog’s weight. The recommended calorie intake from treats should not exceed 10 percent of a dog’s total daily caloric requirement. We always say to treat them as if they were a candy bar–that way you know how many they should receive in a day.
